Profile Authenticity & Content Policy

Storified is designed to help present businesses and professionals through credible, well-structured digital profiles. The purpose of the platform is not only to display contact details or media, but to support the public presentation of an account as genuine, original, and capable of being trusted. For that reason, all submitted content must meet a higher standard of authenticity and integrity.

1. Scope of this Policy

This policy applies to every business profile, professional profile, story, biography, image, logo, video, review source, social media reference, embed, link, description, and other material submitted to or displayed through Storified.

2. Originality & Accuracy

By creating or maintaining a profile on Storified, the business or professional confirms that all submitted information is true, accurate, current, and original where originality is expected.

• Any business story or professional story must be written as an original account and must not be copied, fabricated, plagiarised, or deceptively edited.
• Any statement about identity, ownership, services, experience, qualifications, reputation, achievements, affiliations, or verification must be genuine and capable of being supported if requested.
• Any media, branding assets, links, and references submitted for use on the profile must be lawful to use and must not infringe third-party rights.

3. Verification & Authenticity Standards

Storified may present a profile in a way that supports the authenticity of the account, including by displaying consistent business information, official links, recognised review sources, embedded media, and social media references. Where a business or professional also maintains verified social media accounts or recognised public profiles, those references may help support the credibility of the Storified profile.

A listing on Storified does not remove the account holder’s responsibility to ensure that every submitted claim is truthful. The business or professional remains solely responsible for the truth, legality, and originality of the content supplied.

4. Supporting Embeds & Third-Party Content

Storified may use embedded third-party content to support the presentation and substance of a profile. This may include embedded Spotify players, SoundCloud players, YouTube videos, social media posts, Google reviews, Trustpilot reviews, maps, booking tools, or similar widgets.

These embeds are used to support account content, strengthen public understanding of the business or professional, and provide a more complete and credible profile experience. Storified does not claim ownership of embedded third-party content and does not republish such content as its own. Where content is embedded, it is displayed from the original platform or service provider and remains subject to that third party’s own terms, technology, availability, and policies.

• Storified may display third-party reviews through embeds or approved review-display services.
• Storified does not sell reviews, create fake reviews, or claim authorship of third-party reviews.
• Storified does not take responsibility for downtime, removal, changes, or restrictions imposed by the third-party platform supplying the embedded content.
• The account holder is responsible for ensuring that any linked or embedded material connected to their profile is lawful and authorised for use in this context.

5. Content Submission Standards

All profile content must be submitted in good faith and must not be misleading, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, impersonating, manipulative, or deceptive.

• No false claims of ownership, experience, reputation, awards, verification, or partnerships.
• No manipulated identity material intended to mislead users about the authenticity of the account.
• No copied stories, biographies, descriptions, or branding content used without right or permission.
• No unauthorised use of logos, trademarks, images, videos, reviews, or business information belonging to another party.

6. Charity-Linked Registrations

Storified’s profile model may include a charitable contribution element linked to qualifying registrations and renewals. Where this applies, the business or professional may be given the option to select from Storified’s listed charities. Storified does not take money from charities. The charitable element exists to help support charitable causes through the profile registration structure.

7. Right to Review, Refuse, Suspend, or Remove

Storified reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to review any submitted or published profile content and to refuse, suspend, cancel, or remove a profile where there is reason to believe that submitted information is false, manipulated, copied, unauthorised, misleading, unlawful, or otherwise in breach of this policy or other Storified terms.

• Storified may request clarification or supporting information where authenticity is in doubt.
• Storified may remove content that cannot be verified or that undermines the credibility of the platform.
• Storified may cancel a subscription and remove a profile without refund where the submitted information or account content is false, manipulated, or not original.

8. No Refund on Breach

Where Storified determines that a business or professional has breached this policy by submitting false, misleading, manipulated, copied, or unauthorised content, Storified may terminate the relevant subscription or remove the profile without any obligation to issue a refund.

9. Relationship with Other Policies

This policy forms part of the wider Storified legal and platform framework and should be read alongside the Terms and Conditions, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, Charity Policy, and Affiliate Terms where relevant.
